Sea Turtle Conservation
This project started in 1996 when a pregnant mother turtle was noticed laying eggs on the Kikambala Beach. The Resort consulted the Kenya Wildlife Services on how to manage the egg nest until they hatched. The hotel donated KShs 30,000.00 towards this project and later when Kenya Sea Turtle Conservation Committee was formed, the hotel became a member.
To-date over 700 Turtles have been recorded hatched on the Resort’s Beach. Well-wishers and hotel customers are invited to adopt a turtle through donations, the proceeds of which go towards the Sun N Sand Turtle Conservation Project which looks after the safe nestling of the Turtle eggs & it’s releasing to the Ocean.
